U13 Reds 12–0 Sporting 87 Sigma
First game of the new season took us to a new team in the SYL, with Sporting having moved over the border from the Norfolk league and playing their home games in Bury.
Playing on a 9-a-side pitch with smaller goals, the game was a little tight and we struggled to get used to not playing our wide game as we had practised through out the pre season on bigger 11-a-side pitches, but after 10 mins we had adjusted well and were putting a lot of pressure on Sporting, and from a corner Noah put us one up. We continued to pressure and with good passing play for the rest of the half saw us winning 5–0 at HT.
The second half started and Sporting came out fast and used the wind to their advantage and were unlucky with a couple of shots that our GK Jacob did well to hold on to. The boys then started to take control again and pushed forward for the rest of the half and in the end the FT score was a 12–0 win for us, with hat-tricks from Noah and Joe, while Zak got 4. Adding to the tally was one from Cameron and a screamer from Jesse.
Everyone played very well and the scoreline really did prove that all the lads played their part today.
Special mention must go to Sporting as they never gave up and kept trying to play football the right way and in the right spirit – a great club and great sportsmanship from everyone. 🔴. ⚪️
