Club Statement following incident at Hullbridge
The Club have released the following statement regarding an incident in last Saturdays fixture at Hullbridge Sports.
"Felixstowe & Walton United are a family, community football Club and are very proud of everything we do and everything we have achieved. Our supporters are the life-blood of our Football Club and wherever we go, home or away, we have utmost respect to our visitors just as they have the utmost respect to us. Following an incident at the end of recent away fixture involving one of our own supporters, necessary action against the offender has been taken. The management and personnel of Felixstowe & Walton United Football Club will never tolerate inappropriate behaviour, be it verbal, offensive or physical and any such misappropriation will be dealt with in a dignified and respectful manner as deemed fit by the Football Club management. Thankyou for your attention".
Seasiders COO, Chris Daynes added the following. "I, and my colleagues believe we have the best supporters in the league and we do not believe this one incident is reflective of the magnificent sporting nature of our followers, evidenced by our reputation for always clapping the visiting team off the pitch regardless of the result. However, we understand football can bring out emotions, particularly when things don't go our way and on this occasion led to a supporter over-stepping the mark, potentially leaving the club open to sanctions that could include fines, which I'm sure nobody would want. More importantly it undermines our fine reputation and we are grateful to Hullbridge for their support and superb hospitality on Saturday. We do have a duty with the FA to remind everyone who enters the ground that by doing so they agree to adhere to our Ground Regulations, outlining the standards of behaviour expected of them".
